Dr. Wessam El Beih
Country Director Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon | DROSOS FOUNDATION
Dr. Wessam El Beih is the Country Director of DROSOS FOUNDATION in Egypt since September 2014. In 2021, She started overseeing the portfolios of Jordan and Lebanon in addition to Egypt. She has been expanding the portfolio of DROSOS support to the sectors of entrepreneurship, economic empowerment and creativity economies for youth.
Prior to that, she served with United Nations organizations in a number of positions including as UNICEF Chief of Global Fund Management in Somalia and as UNAIDS Country Director in Egypt. She also worked with Care International as Programme Manager and with Abt Associates in the USA as Senior Research Analyst.
Wessam is a medical doctor with a Master degree in Health Systems Management from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is certified in Systems Thinking from Cornell University in the Unites States. She has 25 years of experience in managing development projects in the fields of HIV, Health, Gender and Education in the Middle East, in North and East Africa as well as the US.
