Karim Akram
Co-Founder & Managing Director | Lyve
In 2016, Karim Akram co-founded iCommunity, now known as Lyve Application. Lyve has been a key PropTech player in Egypt and led the market trend with the introduction of QR codes. Over the past years, he managed to grow the business to contract over 250K units with major real estate developers and homeowners’ associations in Egypt and provide 6+ million codes in the process. Currently leading a team of 15 with aggressive growth plans across the Middle East and Africa, Lyve raised early seed funds worth $600K in October 2018.Â
Prior to that, Akram made a switch from corporate life in 2010, co-founding Orion360 Business Services and Consulting which delivers global projects operating in IT project management, ERP consulting and now, automation focus, including robotic process automation, business intelligence and AI.Â
From 1995 to 2010, Akram worked in IT for Procter and Gamble in Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, UAE and Saudi Arabia. He held a wide range of experiences and assignments such as regional financial systems leader, global treasury system leader, Middle East and Africa IT manager, Central Eastern Europe Middle East Africa interactive marketing manager, and global decision support systems associate director. He also managed key outsourced projects, acquisitions and restructuring efforts within these markets.Â
Karim Akram graduated from AUC in 1992 with a BSc in construction engineering and a minor in business administration.
He is also a member of the Egyptian Athletics Federation and the head of the Technical Committee at the Egyptian Olympic Committee.
